Manmohan Waris, born on 3rd August 1967, is a renowned Indian Punjabi folk/pop singer, who is considered to be one of the most gifted singers of Punjabi folk music. He was born in Halluwal, Punjab, India, as the eldest son of Dilbag Singh. He began his music training at the age of 11 and passed on what he learned to his younger brothers. Manmohan Waris released his first album “Gairan Naal Peenghan Jhootdeye” in 1993, after moving to Canada in 1990. He then signed with Tips Music and released the album “Husn Da Jadu” with them in 2000, before starting his own record label, Plasma Records, with his brothers Kamal Heer and Sangtar. Most of his music has been released under this label. In 2004, Manmohan Waris released “Nachiye Majajne” and toured in the Punjabi Virsa 2004 tour. He followed this up with his studio album “Dil Nachda” in 2007, and his latest album, “Dil Te Na Laeen”, was released in 2010. Waris then went on a worldwide tour with Punjabi Virsa 2010. Apart from his secular music, Waris has also released several religious albums, such as “Chardi Kala Ch Panth Khalsa”, “Ghar Hoon Kitni Ky Doore”, and “Tasveer-Live”, all produced by Sangtar. He released his album “Ardaas Karaan” in February 2011, and in December 2016, he released the single “Chalo Patna Sahib Nu”, recorded on the 350th Birthday Celebration of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. As a Sikh musician, Manmohan Waris has left an indelible mark on the music industry, and his soul-stirring music continues to inspire and uplift his listeners.
