Thoughts on Harpreet Kaur's documentary film from Kanwal jit Singh Gill

This weekend I saw the movie The Widow Colony and was very disappointed and saddened to see the miserable conditions in which those poor ladies are living and in 24 years haven't got any justice from the Indian govt. Thousands of men, women and children were killed and so far in the largest democracy of the world the guilty persons are walking freely.

One lady whose husband and many other family members were killed has identified congresss leader HKL Bhagat asking mobs to kill Sikhs but the Indian justice system hasn't taken any action against HKL Bhagat and many other such leaders who were encouraging mobs to kill innocent Sikhs. One thing that becomes very clear is that all these killings were planned and organised by the congress party and the Indian justice system doesn't have the guts to punish the guilty congress leaders in power.

Another thing suggested in the movie was that we should try to find and punish guilty leaders from top down first. And if we follow that advice then Rajiv Gandhi was the top most guilty person who approved the innocent killings and openly justified it by saying that When big tree falls then the it shakes the earth. If Rajiv Gandhi wasn't involved did he ever made any effort to punish the guilty and provide justice to the victims ? The answer is big No. The home minister at that time Narshima Rao preferred to visit a sick CM in southern state rather than trying to stop innocent killings. He couldn't have done anything anyways because the orders were from higher authority.

Another thing very clear in the movie was role of Delhi police. Police officers are seen helping the mobs or just watching and not making any effort to save innocent lives being killed by mobs. Infact their were couple of localities where Sikhs got togather and faught back against the mobs, but the police came and disarmed the Sikhs and told them they cannot get togather and sent them to their houses. Later on the mobs came and caused the worst kind of destruction and killings in those two localities. Has the Indian justice system or so-called commossions ever questioned Delhi police chief about such roles played by police officers and their failure to control mobs and prevent innocent killings ? Was any action ever taken against guilty police officers who helped mobs ? Why were all Sikh police officers were removed from service and were not allowed to do their job and prevent innocent killings? On one side Delhi admn. has openly said they didn't have enough security forces to control the mobs and on other hand they didn't allow Sikh officers to act and save lives. I even read about one Sikh army officer who happened to be driving by and saw the innocent killings. He acted on his own and saved few lives. Later on he went and talked to his officers about the situation outside and sought permission and more help to save lives outside. But unfortunately he was told not to go out. All these things very clearly show that these 1984 innocent killings in Delhi were very well planned and orders issued from top to police and other security forces to act the way they did ?

Another bg guilty party was the news media that was being controlled by the Indian govt. The media kept calling it Hindu-Sikh riots. If they were Hindu-Sikh riots why no innocent Hindu was killed, whereas thousands Sikhs were killed. Even the western media and leaders have failed to raise voice against these innocent killings. We should be thankful to Harpreet Kaur and Manmeet Singh to produce this documentry and make people in western countries aware of the innocent killings taking place in India and failure of Indian justice system to provide justice to the victims and punish the guilty. First it was Sikhs in 80's, then Muslims in Gujrat and now Christians in Orrissa and Karnatka, The minorities in India the largest democracy in the world are being killed and not being provided fair protection or justice system. The western media and political leaders should start raising voice against such innocent killings and ask for fair justice system and punishment for the guilty people.
