May I ask you a question? Do you know why your soul chose to be born in your human body? It is because it wanted to! It came in to your body so it can have a human experience. It wants to experience something very special. Mostly we don't remember exactly what that special something is, do we? Does everyone always remember exactly what their soul wants to experience in this life? No… and that's OK, because if we remembered what the soul wanted to experience, that might spoil the surprise of discovering it for ourselves, wouldn't it?

Okay, here's the story...

Once there was a very sweet lady who knew she had a really good idea. This can really change people's lives, she thought. "I need to find a way to not just tell people this idea; I need to find a way to SHOW them this idea." And then she came up with how to do it! "I know! I'll make a play! There will be a hero. There will be a funny story. People will watch the play and then they will understand my idea and they will feel better." She was really excited. The first thing she had to do was to write the play, so she sat down and began writing. She wrote the most exciting and entertaining play she could, "People will be so entertained, it will be fun! My idea will really help people, it will be so great!"

She worked really hard to make it a good play. She hired actors and practiced with them every day. Pretty soon everyone in town was talking about it. There were two kids who heard about the play and wanted to see it, "I heard that the play is so good, it shows us how the whole universe works!" "I heard it's so good that everyone who sees it leaves happy, and it changes their lives forever!" "I want to see the play!" "Yeah me too!" So the kids got tickets to see the show on the first night it opened, they were really excited, "I can't wait to see this!" "I know! Me too! And we even got seats right in the front row!"

The nice lady stood on stage and then the red curtains opened, "I present to you my play, 'The Awesome'

"The play began... It was everything they had heard that it would be. It was funny. Everyone was laughing. It was a great story and everyone was having fun. It was meaningful and it was moving.

"Wow, this is really good!" "I know, right?" They said.

Then all of the sudden the music ended. The curtains closed. Everyone started getting up and walking around, "What happened!? Is that it? Is it over?" "What!? It can't be over. We still don't know what happens to the hero!" "Yeah, will the beautiful damsel marry him?"

The person sitting next to them said, "Oh the play isn't over, don't worry, it's just the intermission." Intermission means that the play was only half done, he explained to them, "The second half will start in 15 minutes. This is just a break."

They were happy to hear that it wasn't over yet. They were so excited, "I can't wait another 15 minutes." Then the kids saw the nice lady who had written the play, "Excuse me, may I ask you a question, are you the lady who wrote this play?" She said, "Yes I am." They told her how much they loved the play and how awesome it was, she thanked them, "I'm glad you like it." Then they asked her, " So what is going to happen next in the play?"

"It sounds like you really want to know what happens." "Oh yes, I really, really want to know what happens next." She said. "If I tell you the end of the play now, do you know what will happen?" "What will happen?" She explained, "It will ruin the rest of the show for you. It will ruin the surprise." They admitted that it might ruin some of the fun. Then she said, "You will really want to go back in and see the rest of the play for yourself.... do you know why?" They were so curious, "Why?" Then the nice lady announced, "Because the best part is yet to come!"

The kids went back to see the rest of the play.

Aren't you glad that the nice lady didn't tell them how the play ends? The kids were glad, "This is so exciting, I never knew the play would turn out like this. Good thing I didn't know before hand." Aren't you also glad that you never know what will happen next in your own life?

You know what? This play is like your life. Your life is the real play. The beautiful thing about life is we never know what will happen next. That's what makes life fun. The nice lady is like your soul. Just as she did, your soul has written a wonderful story for you. Your soul has a plan. So never think your life has no purpose. Never think there is no reason for you to be here. Enjoy your life and live it to the fullest because.... Because, the best part is yet to come!
