Guru Dain Singh (7 years old) is the only Sikh boy his his city in Chile. His parents are devoted Sikh converts. He has a strong identity, and one boy from school even copied him wearing a patka.

He wears a patka every day to school. One kid from his class told his parents that he wants to wear a patka like Guru Dain, and he wore it for 1 week.

His parents Sat Bachan Kaur and Rai Singh: "When the parents are committed, the kids can see it. Then the kids can have confidence in themselves. For example when someone asks Guru Dain why he wears a turban he says, "I have a spiritual path from India". It's very normal for him.

"When nobody in the school is a Sikh we have to have a good relationship with the teachers and staff. They know he's vegetarian. The teachers also know how to retie his patka.

"We inspire our son to meditate. It's not easy because he finds it boring. Even he do it for real 1 out of 30 times then he gets that experience. He's a very deep child. When his grandfather passed away recently he said "Don't worry about him because now he is with the Gurus". These kids are so connected to the Guru."
