Bhai Randhir Singh (Patiala)

Bhai Randhir Singh Hazoori Ragi is a renowned classical vocalist and harmonium player in the world of Gurbani music. Born on 2 September 1961 in Sherpur Kheri Kalaan, Barnala, Panjab, he was introduced to Gurbani Keertan by his father Sardar Tirlok Singh, who was also a Gurbani Keertaniya. Since the tender age of 7 years, Bhai Randhir Singh has been immersed in the world of music and started learning from Bhai Baksheesh Singh at the age of 10 years, as introduced by his father. He was deeply influenced by Shiromani Ragi Bhai Balbir Singh and totally focused on classical raag adharit keertan. Bhai Randhir Singh's music style is purely classical, and he insists that Keertan should only be in classical form, and he is a professional Raagi. In 1986, he started his career as a professional Gurbani Singer Raagi from Gurudwara Sh. Dhamdhan Sahib, Haryana as Hazoori Raagi. In 1990, he was appointed as Hazoori Raagi Sh. Harmandir Sahib, Amritsar. He performs as a solo artist and has a Jathha of himself. Bhai Randhir Singh has been nominated for the Shiromani Raagi Award for 2016 and has a significant contribution to the field of Gurbani music. Although he doesn't teach Gurbani music, he is open to sharing his recordings with others. Aside from his music, Bhai Randhir Singh is known for his spiritual teachings and has given many speeches and discourses that showcase his wisdom.
