You can make a brand new building or
you can renovate the old one
You can pick some new committee leaders
In which only a few won

You can place it off the side of the freeway
Or in the middle of a mountain
And in the front you can construct
A grand majestic fountain

You can install some new carpet
You can paint all of the walls
You can put up some new pictures
You can decorate the halls

But inside of the diwan hall, when you are  fighting
Over such trivial matters
Our hearts get broken, our minds get disturbed
Our soul shatters

The place in which I am supposed to obtain peace
Is now surrounded by the police

I am searching for my beloved Guru
Because Waheguru is all I can hear
But in this particular place of worship
My Guru is no longer here
