ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕਾ ਖ਼ਾਲਸਾ, ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕੀ ਫ਼ਤਿਹ॥

My name is Sahib Kaur and I'm 18 years old. I started listening to SikhNet stories at Khalsa School. Being born and raised in the United States it's hard growing up in a foreign country when you're trying to stay

Listening to SikhNet audio and video stories at Khalsa School at the Gurdwara, helped me visualize and understand the stories of Sikh history a lot better. For example, I would often hear about Guru Nanak Dev ji, but watching SikhNet videos really helped me visualize that Guru Nanak Dev ji was a living, breathing human. He actually physically went and helped people and made such a tangible impact.

I was in 9th grade when I won the SikhNet script writing competition, and I was so excited when it was made into a video: Bibi Sharan: The Courage of Kaurs. The key lessons I wanted to share with young people everywhere is that no matter where you come from, all Sikhs unite over the shared emotion and love for Waheguru. I wanted the underlying message to be that Guruji is always there for you.

One of the most important things I learned in Khalsa School that I really wanted in the story was "Why fit in when you were born to stand out?" The light that Guruji gave you, that is the light you are meant to shine in the world.

For me, SikhNet epitomizes this message. SikhNet is shining the light of Guru ji into the world. It is such an available resource for the entire Sikh community, it is so open to new ideas, new information, reaching all the Sikh audience and bringing them together.

Will you open your heart today and help SikhNet keep creating beautiful work, beautiful stories and beautiful messages of Sikhi for Sikhs everywhere.
