Shanti Kaur Khalsa says that, during the Guru's times, women were equal on all levels of life, including leadership. But discriminatory practices against women came into the Sikh life later on when different groups were in charge of places like the Harimandir Sahib. This discrimination is still in place today, for example, women are not allowed to play kirtan inside of the Harimandir Sahib, and are not allowed to do other sevas as well. This is something that should change, and it will. She encourages men and women keep their prayers and intentions with this, and with Guru's Grace it might happen in this lifetime.
